Welcome to the Datacenter Voyage!
Hello all, I'm Jacob Petrie. Datacenter Voyage is an independent publication launched alongside my new Pluralsight course, Network Concepts and Protocols. Since that is the case, I've been rather busy working on that course as well as my day job as a Network Administrator. Thus, a pretty empty site.
But what can I expect?
In the near future I'm intending to do some technical guides packaged as individual micro lessons and field guides that will be grouped into broader collections or deep dives on a topic. Some of the things I've been waiting to write on but had no platform would be:
- Windows Time Service
- PowerShell just enough administration (JEA)
- Opportunistic Wireless Encryption (OWE)
Outside of pooling these together in a deep dive on a specific topic, I'll also be building out career paths. Where we take a job title/role and build a path based on that where you can learn tech stacks that companies are currently hiring for. Each of those skills ending in a scenario-based project that you'll be able to translate to having experience working with in your own lab.
Why is it not here already?
I've been spending all my free time these past couple months working on my new Pluralsight course, Network Concepts and Protocols. Feel free to check it out or any of my other courses which cover Cloud, Server, and Networking.
Be sure to subscribe to be on this journey with us building a place of skill building.
Who drew the art?
My amazing wife Reyna Petrie is the one behind the art on the site. I'll get her linked to that soon.
