Datacenter Voyage Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Datacenter Voyage (run by Petrie Computer Systems) collects, uses, and discloses, transfers, and otherwise processes and handles (collectively, “Processes”) your personal data.

We are hosted on Ghost.org Pro. While the rest of the policy applies to how we will handle your data. Remember, Ghost.org may be doing separate things that can be found in their privacy policy.

With that out of the way, let's talk about what data is visible to us and what we will do with it.

Data from non-members

Who is this? This describes any user who is visiting the site and never clicked "subscribed" and filled out their information.

What can we see? For non-members, we can see a total count of visitors from each country based of IP. We cannot see your IP, or anything about you or your device. You are not associated a unique ID that we can tract what all guides/posts/lessons you read, but when you read a guide/post/lesson it adds to the count of views.

Data from members

Who is this? This describes any user who has filled out their email and click the "subscribe" button.

What can we see? We can see the following data:

Email Address (the one you entered.)
Name (if you entered this in the sign-up form.)
State, Country (based on IP. example: Missouri, US)
The open rate of emails we send you
The date you were last signed in and seen on the site.
What guide/post/lessons you've read
Comments you've posted on the site

What do we do with this data?

We may share overall stats with potential sponsors or partners. Here are examples of what we may and may not share will third parties.

We may share details like:

"We have X number of members on our site"
"Guides on X technology have an average of Y views"
"Guides on X technology have Y number of views from Z country"

What we will not share:

"These are the emails of our members"
"This is the names members who viewed articles on X technology"

Within the items we may share, we will only do so to obtain sponsors and partners that continue to help us make this site and community a better place.
